In addition to government and associated public policy research internships, you’ll find abundant opportunities for placement in government agencies such as major media organizations, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, NASA, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Geographic Society, the National Endowment for Humanities, and the Smithsonian Institution.
Washington, D.C. is also a “global city,” with headquarters of major international organizations such the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Organization of American States, embassies from all corners of the globe, and the U.S. departments of State and Defense.
