An experienced professional in corporate and foundation fundraising who worked as a Development Officer at the Columbus Zoo and Ohio Wesleyan. Has a past focus in higher education as a development officer (major gift fundraiser) and engagement specialist in Alumni Relations. A highly experienced and motivational team builder, leader, coach and developer of individuals. Wants to be contacted regularly is passionate about working with first generation and African American students:
- Speaking with a student 1:1 on campus
- Speaking with a student virtually or on the phone
- Presenting to a class in-person (Can speak on numerous topics, including transitioning from High School to College & college to career)
- Presenting to a student organization
- Mentoring a student
- Serving as a resume-reviewer for OWU students and/or Alumni
- Participating in OWU events such as speed networking, mock interviewing, panels, etc.,
- Hosting a “Career Trek/visit” with a group of students & OWU staff
During his time at Ohio Wesleyan, Jim was active in Greek Life, a Resident Advisor, SUBA, and Council on Intercollegiate Athletics. Currently he is a Chapter Advisory Board Member for Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Co-Facilitator for OWU Lifelong Learning Institute and a member of The Bishop Backers.
