Trauma, Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgeon – University Hospitals Cleveland Medical CenterBiography
Chloe is a General Surgeon who specializes in Critical Care and now works as a Trauma and Emergency General Surgeon and Surgical Intensivist at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. She entered OWU wanting to be a doctor but was interested in primary care. It wasn’t until medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine that she decided surgery was the best fit for her. During medical school she was inducted into the Gold HUmanism Honor Society. Chloe went on to do general surgery residency at University of Massachusetts and a critical care fellowship at The Ohio State University. Through her training, she has been involved with some outcomes research and with teaching/mentoring. She is an instructor for the ATLS (advanced Trauma Life Support) course. Additionally, Chloe spent one year prior to medical school working for a basic science microbiology lab for a private food safety company.
Chloe would be happy to help students who are interested in pre-health/medicine and biology. She is open to discussing what life as a doctor is like, different careers in medicine besides being a doctor, what medical training is like, etc. She is open to:
- Speaking with a student virtually or on the phone
- Presenting to a class in-person
- Presenting to a student organization
- Conducting a virtual webinar
- Mentoring a student
- Assisting OWU alumni (recent Alumni, or Alumni in transition)
- Serving as a resume-reviewer for OWU Students or Alumni
- Participating in OWU events such as speed networking, mock interviewing, panels, etc.
- Hosting a student for an externship or shadowing experience
- Hosting a Career Tre/visit with a group of students & OWU staff
While on campus, Chloe majored in pre-medicine and biology with minors in Spanish and Chemistry. She also volunteered at Grace Free Clinic, participated in microbiology research, went on a service trip to El Salvador, and was a member of the Honors program.
