Assistant Principal – Devonshire Alternative Elementary School (Columbus City Schools)Biography
Anthony M. Peddle ’14, Ed.D., is an Assistant Principal in Columbus City Schools, at Devonshire Alternative Elementary School, a Project Adventure school.
During his tenure in CCS, he has been a Leadership Intern (CCS’s “Grow-your-own” Principal program), taught first grade, kindergarten, prekindergarten and special needs preschool. Prior to joining CCS, Peddle was an Early Childhood Development Specialist in the NICU and CTICUs at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and an Early Intervention Specialist with the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Peddle also currently serves on the Editorial Board, and Senior Leadership Board for the Journal of Trauma Studies in Education as the Manager for Community Engagement & Praxis.
Peddle graduated from Ashland University in 2020, and 2017 with his Doctorate and Master’s in Education, respectively. Peddle’s academic work focuses on trauma informed classrooms and practices, teachers’ secondary traumatic stress, teachers’ ACEs and the organizational development surrounding an organizations’ climates. Peddle has presented this research at the AERA, OAEYC, NAEYC and UCEA International Expos and Conferences over the course of the last several years.
Anthony is happy to connect with students and alumni interested in careers in Education or Leadership; and any students interested in graduate school. Anthony is happy to engage by:
- Speaking with students virtually, on the phone, or over coffee;
- Presenting to classes in-person and/or virtually;
- Presenting to student organizations in-person and/or virtually;
- Conducting seminars and/or webinars;
- Mentoring students;
- Reviewing resumes for students and alumni;
- Participating in OWU events such as speed networking, mock interviews, panels, etc.
Anthony was an Early Childhood Education major at OWU as well as a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity, the Swimming and Diving team, an inaugural LEAD Fellow (now Leadership Fellows), Orientation (Leader and Team Leader-Education Director); Service Learning Office; President of PRIDE (People Regarding Individual Diversity Everywhere); and Senior Class President (2014). Currently Anthony serves on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and co-chairs the Student and Alumni Relations Committee.
Anthony, his husband, and their two dogs reside in Delaware.
