Kyle Wilgus is a Biosecurity Research Fellow at the Janne E. Nolan Center on Strategic Weapons, an institute of the Council on Strategic Risks. They hold a Master of Arts in Science and Technology Policy from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Ohio Wesleyan University. Prior to joining the Nolan Center, Kyle served as a Legislative Research Fellow at the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology, in which he supported portfolios that examined biotechnology regulations and Agricultural biosecurity issues.

In addition to their legislative work, Kyle has gained valuable experience through roles such as Defense Technology Intern at the American Foreign Policy Council, where they focused on the interplay of biotechnology and national security. They also interned at the Office of Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism at the U.S. Department of State, in which he supported and facilitated nonproliferation programs designed to prevent the spread of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Kyle has published research on biotechnology export controls and completed a graduate capstone project that sought to address and examine the national security concerns posed by gene synthesizers.

He is happy to be contacted by students involved in International Studies, Politics and Government, and those interested in working in Washington, DC. He looks forward to working with students by:

Kyle was an International & Global Affairs major and Economics major at OWU. He was involved in Greek Life, Model UN, and Campus Leadership.
