An OWU alumna from the Class of 2006, Dr. Harden holds degrees in Microbiology and Genetics from OWU and a PhD in Immunology from The State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship at The Rockefeller University in New York City. Dr. Harden has built a career leading research activities in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on immunology and inflammatory disease. Her work focuses on drug discovery and development, including identifying potential drug targets, evaluating drug efficacy, and examining how emerging therapies may address specific diseases.

She is enthusiastic about supporting current science majors and the broader OWU community. She is available on an ongoing, case-by-case basis a few times per year. She is happy to assist in the following ways:

– Speaking with a student virtually or on the phone
– Presenting to a class in-person
– Presenting to a student organization
– Conducting a virtual webinar
– Mentoring a student
– Assisting OWU Alumni (recent Alumni, or Alumni in transition)
– Serving as a resume-reviewer for OWU students and/or Alumni
– Hosting a student for an externship or shadowing experience
– Hosting a “Career Trek/visit” with a group of students & OWU staff
