Biography

As a School Psychologist. Ariel works directly with students in schools. She completes evaluations to determine eligibility for Special Education services and if students have educational disabilities. She partners with other school professionals to support educational planning including academic, social and behavioral interventions. Ariel has expertise in early childhood education, interventions and assessments. She primarily works with students from marginalized backgrounds and has worked with students with a variety of needs including intellectual disabilities, Autism, low-incidence disorders, speech and language impairments and learning disabilities. She has been a School Psychologist for seven years and worked in Colorado prior to moving to Ohio.

Ariel is open to helping students interested in careers in Education and/or Psychology. She is comfortable discussing topics like Early Childhood interventions and assessment, Educational assessment, Special Education (specifically the eligibility process), Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), addressing the needs of students with specific diagnosis (i.e. Intellectual Disability, Autism, ADHD, etc.), her experience choosing a graduate program and school as well as her experiences in graduate school and Public Education. She is open to:

  • Speaking with a student 1:1 on campus
  • Speaking with a student virtually or on the phone
  • Presenting to a class in-person
  • Presenting to a student organization
  • Mentoring a student
  • Assisting OWU Alumni (recent Alumni, or Alumni in transition)
  • Participating in OWU events such as speed networking, mock interviewing, panels, etc.
  • Hosting a student for an externship or shadowing experience

Ariel graduated from OWU in 2009. During her time at OWU she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, worked as an Admission Tour Guide and Intern, worked with the Student Homecoming Organization (SHO), and participated in Spring Break Service Trips. In addition, she was involved in the Theater and Dance Department, Terpsicorps, and Orchesis.
