Biography
Alena graduated from OWU in 2023 with majors in Environmental Science and Biology and a minor in Sociology–Anthropology. She now works as a Forestry Technician with the U.S. Forest Service, where her position is very flexible and allows her to assist a variety of departments throughout the year. Her work can vary widely from week to week—she might help with tree planting, create GIS maps, go on trail hitches, mark trees for timber harvest, or assist with stream surveys. She loves working outdoors and is always happy to talk with others who dream of having a field-based career.
During her time at OWU, Alena was involved in Outdoor Ministries, OWtsiders a cappella, the Equestrian Team, and the TPG program/study abroad. Alena is happy to assist students in the following ways:
-Speaking with a student virtually or on the phone
-Conducting a virtual webinar
-Assisting OWU Alumni (recent Alumni, or Alumni in transition)
